God that was strange to see you again
Introduced by a friend of a friend
Smiled and said 'yes I think we've met before'
In that instant it started to pour,
Captured a taxi despite all the rain
We drove in silence across point champlain
And all of the time you thought I was sad
I was trying to remember your name…
This scar is a fleck on my porcelain skin
Tried to reach deep but you couldn't get in
Now you're outside me
You see all the beauty
Repent all your sin
It's nothing but time and a face that you lose
I chose to feel it and you couldn't choose
I'll write you a postcard
I'll send you the news
From a house down the road from real love…
Live through this, and you won't look back…
Live through this, and you won't look back…
Live through this, and you won't look back…
There's one thing I want to say, so I'll be brave
You were what I wanted
I gave what I gave
I'm not sorry I met you
I'm not sorry it's over
I'm not sorry there's nothing to say
I'm not sorry there's nothing to say...

I'll Be - Edwin McCain
The strands in your eyes that color them wonderful
Stop me and steal my breath.
And emeralds from mountains thrust toward the sky
Never revealing their depth.
Tell me that we belong together,
Dress it up with the trappings of love.
I'll be captivated,
I'll hang from your lips,
Instead of the gallows of heartache that hang from above.
[Chorus:]
I'll be your crying shoulder,
I'll be love's suicide
I'll be better when I'm older,
I'll be the greatest fan of your life.
And rain falls angry on the tin roof
As we lie awake in my bed.
You're my survival, you're my living proof.
My love is alive -- not dead.
Tell me that we belong together.
Dress it up with the trappings of love.
I'll be captivated,
I'll hang from your lips,
Instead of the gallows of heartache that hang from above
[Chorus]
And I've dropped out, I've burned up, I've fought my way back from the dead.
I've tuned in, turned on, remembered the things that you said
[Chorus:]
I'll be your crying shoulder,
I'll be love's suicide

Firm Trip - Bali 2008
The firm took us to Bali this year. I was not really looking forward to it. I wanted to just spend time with KK. However, I found myself actually enjoying the time spent with my friends/colleague. It wasn't such a bad trip afterall. I was on the evening flight and we arrived Denpasar at about 6.
We were whisked off for our first meal. It was to be Sundanese food... check it out...
The rice is wrapped in the leaf and you've got that piece of fried chicken, tofu skin, raw veg with sambal and the vege soup (very sweet from the corn)...
Sundanese version of flying fish perhaps?
The food was questionable, but we were all too hungry to complain and wolved it down. We then proceeded to the hotel (Hard Rock Hotel! woo hoo!). I shared a room with Nicholas. The beds were huge! Rooms were very comfortable... not bad at all.. haha.. but we didnt have time to hang around the hotel just yet. We were invited to go to Ocean Beach Club for drinks and a night out.. There were performers on stilts in really weirdass costumes they were walking around the pool and bar. check out the outdoor dance floor floating on the pool!
the "fire" performer had her own stage... seductive and very cultural in a way...
Afterawhile tho, me and Nicholas got hungry so we went looking for food. We found this restaurant on the way back to the hotel.
We had noodles with dumplings and ...I had the mango desert thingy with pomelo bits... yum.. very adventurous of us eh? haha..
back at the hotel, there were loads of guitars hanging on the wall.. there's one with *apparently* Sting's guitar...
another bunch of guitars hanging on the wall... wwhheee...
oohhh.. look... sparkly guitar...
After breakfast the following day, we had the Bali Hunt in which we were split into teams and the hunt worked like Amazing Race. We ran up and down Kuta Beach and town looking for clues, bargaining with people and trying to be the first to get to the finish. Alas, my team came third out of ... 26 I think.. not bad at all...
After that tho, we got ready for lunch and were whisked off on our busses again. There were many sights to see on the way to the restaurant... The Balinese sure love their huge ass kites!! There was an army of kites in the sky.. It's also amazing how close they had paddy fields to "civilization"... the setting of the traditional and the modern so close by each other...
I think we had chinese for lunch.. wasnt really great... I remember the service sucked but no choice really.. We then proceeded to Taman Ayun Temple which is a Royal Temple of Mengwi Empire.
Taman Ayun Temple is one of the most visited Hindu Temples in Bali. The name Taman Ayun Temple means the "Temple of the Beautiful Gardens." After Taman Ayun, we proceeded to Tanah Lot Temple. Tanah Lot was founded by the 16th-century priest Danghyang Niratha out of sheer adoration for the natural beauty of the landscape here. The little temple sits atop an outcrop of rock in the surf, guarded by sea snakes.Around the temple grounds, there are statues put up... probably gods and goddesses... but the scenery... so... beautiful...
breath...
taking...right??
*you can even see a little man in the pic.. I think he was looking for shellfish...*
We did some souvenir shopping and hopped back onto our respective busses and went back to the hotel to get ready for our annual dinner..
It was held at the hotel, buffet style as usual... I'm such a pig... we had a lucky draw and I won a RM200 voucher from Giant.. whoopee...haha.. I bought a DVD player with it.. hahaha... There was a live band at the bar area but we were too tired from the day's activitiesso it was lights out for us... The following morning, we woke up early for breakfast... food was alright but *gasp*they had pork bacon on the counter!!! yum yum yum!
After breakfast we walked around a bit to do some last minute shopping. We also sat on the beach for awhile.. the waves are huge... lots of surfers...but the pool at the hotel was nevertheless more alluring to me. I sat around for hours working on my tan! hahaha.. lunch was at Hard Rock Cafe. I had the "Thai seafood pasta"... not very Thai I have to say but it was alright. I took a walk around Kuta Beach and the "shopping district" by myself and came to the Bali bombing memorialtragic how innocent lives are lost because of fanatics and their terrorist ideals.. sigh... but soon it was time to go anyway... but before we go, check out my tan!!
hahaha... on a whole, I'd recommend Bali to anyone who wants a good holiday. It's got everything you need for a great holiday.. it's got culture, the "shopping" district, the beach and abundant activities.. what more could you ask for??
